Phil Collins played drums on Mike Oldfield album "QE2" (1980). Phil is said to be one of the best drummers in the world. He is also very popular and successful songwriter and singer. He used to be an actor.

    Phil Collins joined Genesis in 1970. The group was formed by: Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Steve Hackett, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks. After Gabriel's departure in 1974 Phil Collins became lead vocalist. In 1977 Steve Hackett departed from Genesis. 20 years later (since "Calling All Stations" album) Ray Wilson took place of Phil Collins in the group.
    All the musicians have successfully recorded their own solo material. On the first Steve Hackett solo album "Voyage Of The Acolyte" (1975) Sally Oldfield have appeared (she sang "Shadow Of The Hierophant"). In the middle of the 80's Hackett formed together with Steve Howe (Yes) group GTR with Max Bacon on vocals.
    Second Genesis guitarist Mike Rutherford formed in the 80's Mike & the Mechanics.
    One of the Genesis songs titled "Carpet Crawlers 1999" was produced by Trevor Horn, who also produced "Tubular Bells 2" by Mike Oldfield.
