Carl Palmer is responsible for the excellent drums in "Mount Teidi" from "Five Miles Out". He is one of the best drummers in the history of rock music. With his extraordinary way of playing he discovered unknown potential of the instrument.
Carl Palmer music career began with the band Atomic Rooster. The true career began, when he met Keith Emerson (keyboards; previously playing with The Nice) and Greg Lake (guitars and vocals; previously with King Crimson). Emerson, Lake & Palmer was formed. Works of three great musicians are considered to be one of the most fascinating adventures of rock music. On their albums you can find long and beautifully arranged suites, covers of classical music, lovely hits and sensitive ballads.

    In 1980 Palmer recorded an album with his own group "1 pm".
    In 1986 an album "Emerson, Lake & Powell" was released. There was Cozy Powell on Palmer's place due to Palmer's participation in Asia. Carl Palmer was a member of Asia in 1982-1992. It's worth to mention, that the keyboarder and songwriter of Asia was Geoffrey Downes - producer of Oldfield's "Magic Touch".
    If you haven't got lost in all of these connections, let you know that in 1983 during the concert in Japan Greg Lake from EL&P was singing the lead vocals with Asia. He took the place of John Wetton. Later Greg Lake recorded together with Geoffrey Downes, but their album "Ride The Tiger" was never released. In 1999 Carl Palmer formed together with John Wetton band called Quango.
    We'd like to finish telling the story with the plot connecting once more the story of rock music with Mike Oldfield. So let us say, that when Greg Lake departed King Crimson in 1972, John Wetton took his place but since 1981 Adrian Belew is the lead singer of the group. Belew was singing and playing guitar on Mike Oldfield's "Earth Moving".
